Single-phase 230 V, 50 Hz. Inlet and outlet have the same circular connection size. Figures are from Östberg product selector data sheets (2019 and 2020). For CK 150 B, CK 150 C and CK 160 C the 50 Hz figures are taken from the Östberg website, which is also where those rows link to; max flow is at free air and max pressure at zero flow, so your working point will be lower. Always confirm for your duty point before ordering. Östberg ↗
Where CK inline duct fans are used
Typical applications for a duct-mounted CK. If your case is not listed, describe it and we will tell you honestly if CK is the right fan.
Toilet and bathroom exhaust
Internal and windowless toilets need mechanical exhaust, and the duct must end outside the building. A duct-mounted CK keeps the fan away from the room. Add a back-draught shutter or louvre at the outlet.
Kitchen and canteen extract
Domestic and light kitchen extraction through a duct. For grease-laden commercial hood exhaust, tell us the application first because CK is rated for clean air up to 60 to 80 °C.
Fresh air and AC ducts
Bring fresh air into AC rooms, boost airflow at the end of a long duct run, or serve a room from a central supply duct. Backward-curved impeller, and speed can be controlled.
Clinics, hospitals and isolation rooms
Supply or extract fans in ducted systems. Air changes and pressure are set by your HVAC consultant; we supply the fan for that duty and help match it to the duct.
Offices, shops, restaurants and server rooms
General supply and extract ventilation, and cooling-air ducts for server, electrical and plant rooms.
Grow rooms, hydroponics and container farms
Exhaust and intake fans for grow tents, grow rooms, hydroponic setups and closed container farms. Speed control lets you tune temperature and humidity. See the indoor farming section below.
Workshops and machine shops
General ventilation of workshops and machine rooms. Not for oil mist, flammable or corrosive fumes; use filtered extraction or explosion-proof fans such as Kruger MTD-EX.
Who we supply
HVAC and MEP contractors
Model-wise spec sheets for submittals, quotations for single fans or project quantities, and delivery and installation support in Chennai and South India.
Consultants and specifiers
Duty-point checks against the data sheets, accessories and noise data, so the fan you specify is the fan you get.
Facility and maintenance teams
Replacement of a failed fan by model number, with the data sheet to confirm size, voltage and speed.
Indoor growers and container-farm builders
Hobby growers, hydroponic and microgreen growers, mushroom and nursery operators, and builders of container and vertical farms: tell us the room or container size and we size the exhaust and intake fans.
Restaurants, clinics, shops and homeowners
Tell us the room and duct and we choose the size. We can also install.
Grow rooms, hydroponics and container farm ventilation
CK inline duct fans are used as the exhaust and intake fans for grow tents, grow rooms, hydroponic and microgreen setups, mushroom rooms, nurseries and closed container farms. We supply the fan and tell you which accessories you need.
| Duct size | Inch size growers use | CK models |

| 100 mm | 4 inch | CK 100 A, CK 100 C |
| 125 mm | 5 inch | CK 125 A, CK 125 C |
| 150 mm | 6 inch | CK 150 B, CK 150 C |
| 160 mm | 6 inch (160 mm) | CK 160 B, CK 160 C |
| 200 mm | 8 inch | CK 200 A, CK 200 B |

Exhaust and intake
Put the exhaust fan high, where warm and humid air collects, and the intake low and far from it. A passive intake opening is usually made larger than the exhaust (guides suggest up to three times). A closed or well-insulated room or container usually needs a powered intake fan as well, so the exhaust does not starve it.
Sizing a grow room fan
Airflow = room volume ÷ minutes per air change. Many guides use one change every 1 to 3 minutes, and more with strong lights. For example a 1.2 m x 1.2 m x 2 m tent is 2.88 m³, so one change per minute is about 173 m³/h (102 CFM). Carbon filters, duct bends and silencers each cut the airflow, so choose a fan with headroom.
Speed control and noise
Fit a transformer or electronic speed controller (listed in the Östberg accessories) to run the fan slower for quieter, steadier temperature and humidity control. CK noise is quoted at 36 to 49 dB(A) at 3 m. Östberg also lists CK EC versions with an EC motor; ask us if you need one.
Container and vertical farms
Tell us the container size (for example 20 ft or 40 ft), lights, crop and duct layout. We size one exhaust fan and one intake fan, and suggest dampers and filter boxes. For larger airflow in rectangular ducts see the RKB.
CK or RKB: which Östberg duct fan?
Choose by the shape of your duct first. CK fits round ducts and RKB fits rectangular ducts. Then check airflow and pressure against your duct system.

How to choose a CK size
- Start with the duct diameter: 100, 125, 150, 160, 200, 250 or 315 mm.
- Work out airflow: room volume x air changes per hour. For example a 3 m x 2 m x 3 m internal toilet at 15 air changes per hour needs 270 m³/h, about 159 CFM.
- Add the pressure loss of the duct, bends and grilles.
- Check the variant (A, B or C) can deliver that airflow at that pressure.
- Check supply, noise limit and air temperature against the table.
Try the blower selector or send us the details on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions
What is an Östberg CK inline duct fan?
The Östberg CK (also written Ostberg CK) is an inline duct fan with circular connections. It has a backward-curved impeller, an external rotor motor with sealed ball bearings and a galvanised sheet steel housing, and is made to be installed in a duct system.
What is an inline duct fan used for?
An inline duct fan sits inside the ductwork and moves air through it. Typical uses are toilet and bathroom exhaust, kitchen extract, fresh air to AC rooms, boosting airflow in long ducts, and general supply or extract ventilation in offices, shops, clinics and workshops.
Which CK size should I use for toilet exhaust or fresh air?
Start from the airflow you need: room volume multiplied by air changes per hour. Typical design guidance in India is about 10 to 15 air changes per hour for an internal bathroom and 15 to 20 or more for a commercial toilet block. Then pick the CK whose curve gives that flow at your duct pressure. Send us the room size and duct run and we will confirm the model.
Can CK be used for kitchen exhaust, oil mist or fumes?
CK suits clean air up to 60 to 80 °C depending on the model, so it fits domestic and light kitchen extract and general ventilation. It is not made for grease-laden commercial hood exhaust, oil mist, flammable or corrosive fumes. Tell us the application first; for hazardous atmospheres we can offer explosion-proof fans such as Kruger MTD-EX.
How do I choose between CK 100 A and CK 100 C, or other variants of the same size?
The duct size stays the same; the letter marks the variant. In the data sheets, the later letter within a size has the higher power and higher maximum pressure, for example CK 100 A is 41 W with 319 Pa maximum and CK 100 C is 59 W with 350 Pa. Choose by the airflow you need at your duct's pressure loss, not by size alone.
Are CK 100 C and CK 100 C1 the same fan?
On Östberg's website CK 100 C1, CK 150 B1, CK 150 C1 and CK 160 C1 carry the same article numbers (7000034, 7000043, 7000045 and 7000050) as the matching C and B models in our table. Other 1-suffix models, such as CK 315 C1, are separate versions with different data, so confirm the exact model before ordering.
What do max flow and max pressure mean in the table?
They are the two ends of the fan curve: the flow with no resistance and the pressure at which flow falls to zero. A fan cannot deliver both at once. Real airflow depends on the resistance of your duct, bends, grilles and filters, so send us the duty point if you know it.
Can a CK fan be installed outdoors or in a damp place?
The data sheets state that a duct-connected fan can be installed outside or in damp environments, in any position. The junction box is IP 54 and the motor enclosure is IP 44 per the technical data. Please tell us about rain, dust or fumes so we can check the application.
Can the speed of a CK fan be controlled?
Yes. The data sheets say a transformer or an electronic speed controller can be connected, and that motor protection is integrated.
Which CK inline fan suits a grow tent or grow room?
Match the duct size of your tent or filter: 100 mm is 4 inch, 125 mm is 5 inch, 150 and 160 mm are about 6 inch, 200 mm is 8 inch, 250 mm is 10 inch and 315 mm is 12 inch. Work out the airflow from the room volume, allow extra for carbon filters, bends and silencers, and choose a CK that delivers it at that pressure. Add a speed controller to tune temperature and humidity. Send us the tent or room size and we will confirm the model.
Can CK fans be used for container farm exhaust and intake?
Yes, as the exhaust fan and as a powered intake fan on ducted openings. A closed, insulated container usually needs both so the exhaust does not starve the room. Tell us the container size, lighting, crop and duct layout and we will size the pair. CK is for clean, humid air; it is not made for ammonia, corrosive or flammable gases.
Can CK handle the humidity in a grow room?
The data sheets state a duct-connected CK can be installed outside or in damp environments. Keep the motor and junction box away from direct water spray and tell us about fertiliser or chemical fumes so we can check the application.
